ENGLISH LEARNER PARTNERSHIP WITH NOLA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Through NOLA Public Schools new English Learner Specialized Program, we are providing training for educators, parents, and school leaders at 9 schools, impacting ~6000 students. The educator/staff training works to improve participants’ ability to serve ELs by building their understanding of students in context – including current immigration policies, schools’ legal obligations, and immigrants’ rights.

At the same time we host family engagement series at the same schools in order to empower parents with the information they need to navigate the school system and access community resources.
