On August 25th we kicked off our ¡D.A.L.E! fellowship with an overnight retreat for the very first cohort of teachers! ¡D.A.L.E! (Developing Academic Leaders in Education) accepted 12 teachers to learn and work together in order to improve education for students who are English language learners. At the retreat, the fellows discussed racial equity, power, privilege and the roles they play in our schools and our classrooms. These discussions will will form the mindset of equity focused classroom leaders and lay the foundation for their future sessions around ELL best practices, and ground the work the fellows do in their schools. We are very excited to continue working with this truly fantastic and dedicated group of educators!
