On March 14th, we celebrated the graduation of our teacher fellows from the inaugural cohort of our ¡DALE! (Developing Academic Leaders in Education) Fellowship through a special event bringing together educators, parents, students, and community members.THANK YOU to our ¡DALE! fellows that have graduated and are creating the innovations our school system needs.
¡DALE! is a fellowship that builds the capacity of teachers to be academic leaders and their schools to be institutions of excellence. This is done by developing highly skilled teams of teachers to improve the quality of English Language programing in schools and create environments where students who are English Learners will thrive.
Between the dinner and the dancing, fellows showcased the school-wide projects they have created to support students who are EL, and nationally recognized speakers spoke on the importance of building new systems in our schools. Thank you to our speakers, Ryan Smith from Partnership for LA Schools and Bryan Lee from Colloqate Design, for leading the conversation on on how to build more equitable spaces for students who are English Learners.
We’d also like to give a special shout out to all the parents, educators, school leaders, and community members who were present! The evening was a true expression of dedication and commitment from everyone in the room for not only students who are EL, but all students across the city. We can’t wait to keep building with you all!
